Experience the Finnish sauna with healing herbs!
In this workshop we’ll start by exploring the wild herbs in season and forage those that are perfect for a relaxing moment in the sauna. This is an great opportunity to learn tradition of Finnish sauna and use and preservation of wild plants. Swim into Baltic sea is a bonus!
The foraging workshop includes:
• A beginner’s foraging walk to identify wild edible and medicinal plants
• Learning to identify and use the most common Finnish wild herbs & vegetables safely
• Learning about preserving plants – drying, blanching, and freezing
• Understanding everyman’s rights and the importance of sustainable foraging
• E-book about Finnish wild herbs and vegetables
We meet at the sauna facility, start wood fire sauna, and while sauna is heating up, explore the surrounding for foraging. It will be memorable summer day together!
The workshop is hosted in collaboration with Anna Nyman.
Anna is a biologist and a certified wild food guide. She also studies herbalism and finished her studies in August 2022.
