WELCOME TO LOCAL FOOD FESTIVAL IN FISKARS!
On the weekend of October 1 & 2, we gather again ()after 3 years!) in Fiskars to shop, taste and enjoy good, clean and fairly locally produced food!
Slow Food Helsinki is organising direct bus transportation to Fiskars on Saturday, October 1st. The bus leaves from Mannerheim Square (Mannerheiminaukio) in front of Kiasma museum entranne at 09:00 and departs Fiskars at 16:00. Both members and non-members are welcome.
Around sixty local producers participate annually in the local food market Slow Food Festival, which this year is organized for the 12th time and takes place in and around the Thresher House in Fiskars mill. The Slow Food festival brings together eco-gastronomes, producers and other local food actors and attracts up to 10,000 visitors annually.
In addition to the food market, the Slow Food festival consists of various workshops, tastings, lectures and debates. The website will be updated as the weekend draws near. Information is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. https://slowfoodvastnyland.org/slow-food-festival/

Fiskars is not too far but a bit hard to access unless you have a car in this season. And the village provides limited parking space. If you cannot make it to Saturday, or our time to bus ride, there will be a free shuttle bus running between Karjaa /Karis train station and Fiskars during the festival weekend.
By helping each other together, we hope to be able to organise an atmospheric and fun event for all participants!
Come join us in supporting your regional local food scene!
