This time of the year has come! Terra Madre Day, the official anniversary of Slow Food, is one of the biggest Slow Food events of the year, celebrating local food on a global scale. Every December, Slow Food members around the world organise parties and gatherings to celebrate good, clean and fair food. Terra Madre Days brings together all who share the vision of a food system that supports local economies, that respects the environment, biodiversity, taste, and tradition.
Slow Food Helsinki convivium organises our annual general meeting (AGM) around this day of the year.
The AGM consists of two parts: the meeting first, followed by a potluck meet-up afterwards. This is an opportunity for SFH members to meet the board, and other SFH members and community. Non-members are also warmly welcome! Come learn more about Slow Food movement and our Helsinki convivium activities.
For the Terra Madre potluck meetup, we welcome you to bring local specialties from your own country and kitchen to share together. The potluck lunch will be celebrated at Helsingfors Svenska Marthas in the Punavuori district. kitchen. While there is some kitchen space to warm or prepare simple dishes, we encourage you to prepare and cook your food at home so that we can all share together!
