Wild Mushrooms: Forage and Cook!

Join us for a wild meal with wild mushrooms at Luukki!
In this special Forage & Cook workshop Biologist Anna Nyman of “Foraging in Finland” will guide us in learning how to forage and identify different types of wild mushrooms and use them to create a tasty meal. We’ll start the workshop with a 1.5 hour foraging walk in Luukki, followed by a 1.5 hour cooking session on an open fireplace at Halkolampi.
Recipes will be based on the wild mushrooms in season in early autumn. The delicious vegetarian menu will include:
– Wild mushroom soup with wild herbs
– Bread baked on the fireplace with wild mushrooms and cheese
– Chaga mushroom hot chocolate
Participants will help prepare the meal together, receive the recipes, and an e-book about wild mushrooms via email after the workshop.
As we will be foraging away from the main paths, the workshop is not suitable for prams or strollers or for young children.
The availability of mushrooms depends on the weather conditions of autumn and varies in different terrains.
