Kalliolan merenrantasauna

Experience the Finnish sauna with healing herbs!

In this workshop we’ll start by exploring the wild herbs in season and forage those that are perfect for a relaxing moment in the sauna. Using only natural ingredients we’ll make herbal foot baths, bath whisks and herbal facial masks perfect for your skin type.

During this workshop you’ll learn about sauna traditions and how wild herbs have traditionally been used to heal and soothe the body and the mind. You’ll learn how to forage herbs and use herbs internally and externally but also how to preserve them for later use. You’ll also have the opportunity to take a swim in the Baltic sea!

You’ll need:

  • A bath towel and smaller towel to sit on
  • A basket for the herbs
  • A bottle of water. It’s important to stay hydrated in the sauna!
  • Soap, shampoo or other hygiene products you might need

The workshop is hosted by Anna Nyman. Anna is a biologist and a certified wild food guide. She also studies herbalism and will finish her studies in August 2022. Follow her on Instagram for more!
