Syötävä Puisto (Edible Park)

In this workshop you’ll learn how to use wild herbs and natural ingredients in DIY cosmetics. We’ll start by learning how wild herbs can nourish the skin and the hair, where the herbs grow and then we forage the plants and flowers we’ll need when preparing wild cosmetic products.

Together we will make 3 natural cosmetic items to take home – a herbal body balm suitable for your skin type, herbal clay mask and herbal foot bath with carefully selected herbs. You will also learn about how you can use herbs in easy self care routines. The raw materials used are dried and/or fresh wild herbs and garden herbs, clay, essential oils, vegetable oils and beeswax. The course is suitable for anyone interested in herbs and natural skin care.

The workshop includes:

  • A short foraging walk to identify wild edible and medicinal plants
  • Learning how to use herbs in natural skin and hair care and how to choose the right herbs for your skin and hair type
  • Learning about preserving plants – drying, blanching, and freezing
  • Understanding everyman’s rights and the importance of sustainable foraging
  • E-book about Finnish wild herbs and vegetables.
  • All the materials and packages for three diy cosmetic products.

The workshop is hosted by Anna Nyman. Anna is a biologist and a certified wild food guide. She also studies herbalism and will finish her studies in August 2022. Follow her instagram account for more!
